I was; since I was born on a Thursday and it was Dr. Bowen's day off, Dr. Rothblatt delivered me along with Mrs. O'Brien, RN. I think she lived in Andover.

I was also born in Windham Community Memorial Hospital. I don't know how accurate this is, but I remember my late mother telling me that I was one of the first babies delivered by Dr. Reuben Rothblatt.

I was born there in 1939 and delivered by Dr Edwin H. Basden. I think I still have a copy of the hospital charges which were $45.00.

My two children were both born at WCMH. Martha V. Darrow, 9/6/61 by Dr. Gerald Sandler and Ethan W. Darrow, 9/26/63 by Dr. Melvin Sandler with some help from me. My brother, Kimerlee J. Bradford was born at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam on March 22, 1932 in the worst nor'easter imagineable. We lived in Danielson at the time and my parents did not own a car. A friend started the trip in a Model A, got as far as Putnam and a local taxi got them to the hospital just in time. I was nearly three at the time and remember going to visit Mother and standing on the roof of the Model A and waving to her. Children were not allowed to visit in hospitals in that era.

I was born there in 1954 by Dr. Rothblatt. I visited him a year or so before he passed away at his home in Florida. What a doctor! The dedication of the physcians at Windham are still pretty good but not many make house calls anymore!
