Pomfret's Lost Village

My brother was recently talking about an area around Pomfret known as The Lost Village. Can anyone shed some light on this? It was said that many people died there, but I don't know the reason why, and that many people left for curious reasons. It sounds like a very mysterious and interesting place to stroll around! The property now belongs to someone in New York who has NO TRESPASSING signs posted. Has anyone any knowledge of Pomfret's "Lost Village"?

I believe you are talking about Bahrain. I am away from home for a couple of weeks, but if you email me the beginning of Dec. I can get you more info on it.

Sorry about that, been so much to do since we got back I forgot. This is directly from Dennis Wm. Hauck's book, Haunted Places:

"Bara-Hack Settlement. This isolated colony was founded by 2 Welsh families in 1780. Although it was abandoned in 1890, the sounds of the former inhabitants remain. Children's laughter, singing, mothers calling their husbands and children, barking dogs, mooing cows and the rumble of wagon wheels can still be heard here....

I have actually been there several times about 7 years ago though I too have seen the no trespassing signs recently. I believe it is owned by the 4H Camp. There was a wall scheduled there during this past "walking Weekend."
