So would I! Not only don't the stores carry the brand that fits me best, but they never stock my size anymore in anything else. Have had to resort to shopping by catalogue. Shipping & handling charges are outrageous. You are right. The quality is not there anymore, no matter how much one pays.

I happen to be one of those who have trouble getting the right width. In the "old days" wearing an AA, AAA, even AAAA (what my mom wore!!) was not unusual. Now it is very difficult to go into the average shoe store and manage to find even an AA. Yes, there are some around but the choice is so limited. You'd be surprised what it does to your feet if you are forced to get something that doesn't fit properly. I suspect that is also why Virginia has a problem as well.

I need to go to shoe stores, Since my feet are wide, its difficult at best to find shoes that fit at a department store of any type. Its especially hard to find special shoes, such as Golf shoes and Bowling shoes. I buy my golf shoes online and my bowling shoes at at alley proshop. :) I remeber my mom and I going to Bens, there was also a shoe "Outlet" on the lower end of bricktop rd. I think it was just north of the bricktop laundry, but it may have been just south. If I remeber correctly it was an outlet for the shoe company with "dutch boy" log" Getting old, can't remeber the brand

The shoes were Buster Browns.

I wonder if I could locate some big red shoes. Ones that would match the color of the "frog scarves" and fit those big webbed feet.
