Isn't this just the best discussion forum around, and no one enjoys the verbal fencing between Wendi and Lenny and others than me. However, the website is used extensively in Windham's schools for its history content, so say anything but please watch the language.

Now, are Clay and I being politically correct in editing out profanties, which are actually very mild? For example I dislike it when movies are beeped and edited on TV to cut out profanties! Talking of pc, and I'm taking a British perspective I guess, I think that changing and altering language does not change deeply inate cultural habits like sexism and racism which cut across the political perspective anyway. PC as done absolutely nothing to change racism and sexism. Like smoking and drugs, if you ban them, they become stronger and more widespread.

This is not sitting on the fence, but liberalism and conservatism need each other for society to go forward. No one 'stands on his own his own two feet'. That's a conservative myth, like 'rugged individualism.' We all get assistance from the state when necessary, and its important, but then again so is hard work and entrepreneurialism.

So Wendi and Lenny keep gracing this discussion forum. Clay and I get loads of compliments about it, but we just provide the forum, and its the great contributions that make it. I particularly enjoyed the restuarant chain for example.

There are problems in Willimantic of course, but go to any urban area in CT, excluding Faifield, and you'll witness much worse. The community spirit is great, and the Third Thursday -- well, you just gotta see it. And where else will you see anything like the Boombox Parade?

Tom--I agree with your message. I saw a message board on a local carrier in my area removed because people continued to not heed the warnings of language and slanderous remarks. The Discussion Forum is a privilege NOT a right

Thank you Mr. Beardsley for saying that you enjoy my fencing with Lenny. Actually, it just so happens it was Lenny in the particular thread you are speaking of. I have done it with others too, especially if I have knowledge of the subject. I am not the only one who speaks their mind here either...That is why it has bothered me so much to have others in this discussion forum calling people names. Maybe I am guilty of it too at times, without intentionally trying to hurt anyone. I am human. I do not intentionally call people names such as dumb or bi-polar or lady? Hmmmm... Maybe we should ALL take a moment to reflect on our behavior here. ~ Lenny, Scorpio, Bill & myself ~ It did bother me when I saw the bleeped out words and finally posts removed. One of them was mine. I do apologize. I would like to say that just because I was what I was, and I did what I did in Willimantic... it does not make me any of the names I was called. I am a college graduate, and was long before I ever heard of Willimantic, CT. I am interested in helping the people who are just like me, in making it out of that kind of life. I try and be a power of example with a kind and loving heart. Sorry Lenny, but I do believe in KARMA!!! :) Thank you for letting me express myself here. ~ Wendi ~

I do not recall defacing this forum with vulgar language. however, If I did I would like to apologize for it. I will ensure that it dosn't ever happen in my posts. I do not apologize for my stance with wendi, I found the entire exchange amusing, that is untill it became ridiculous. Therefore I bowed out and gave her victory :) BTW, I was recently back in Willi for a visit. So much has changed, I am still undecided on the Frogs. I enjoyed my visit, and I think I will visit more often. It sure was nice to actually have a grinder.

All my best Lenny
