Folks:

Anyone know the Langworthy family who used to live up on High St near the college up past Washburn St.??? There were a few brothers --one named Bob and two others too I think??

We were trying to put together a name of all of the kids we knew back in grammar school days at Windham Street School or the F R Noble School it was also known as.

There were also the Terrys too-- Ray and Bob and Billy Strand the basketball player and Clayton Lemire or Bruce Lemire who lived up on upper Hih Street -- near where the new high school is ( we say new ...it was to us, me and Gerty).

Thanx,

Shemp

Shemp--I went to High School with a Bob Langworthy and believe he retired from Navy. I have WHS name and locater book. Let me know who you are looking for and I will try to email you the address listed in the book. I believe the book was published by one of the alumini classes and sold it as fund raiser.

Dick, Whatever happened to guys like Phil Deuel, Roger Pepin, Dick D'Auteuil, George Little, beautiful Elaine Levering? Phil Shine, Doug Murphy, and John Piccin? Are any of them in the Willimantic area, or have they drifted to the far corners of the earth? Just rhetorical questions, but they strike chords that chime through the valleys of my mind. Who could ever forget the wide smile that was "Bucky" Harris, or the sharp wit emanating from the quick mind of his big sister "Bunny" Harris?

Shemp, I knew Bobby Langworthy from High St. He was my age and his kid brother was the same age as my brother Dick. Their mother worked at Bretts Pharmacy next to the 1st National Mkt. Bobby threw a tin can at me once and split my lip. His mother took me to the Dr.s to get it sewn up.

When we lived on Tanner Ave we lived near the lemires. Irwin was the same age as me and we had the same classes at Windham St School. If I recall corectly he also had a brother the same age as my brother. It's a small world I guess.

I was friends with Kenny Langworthy in the fifties and saw him in '83 while visiting Willi. I don't know if he's still there. Recently I heard that Dick Lanworthy passed away (I don't know if it's true), I think he was living in Florida. I also know that Bobby Langworthy has been living out of state.
