Duck pin bowling

Duck pin bowling use to be big in Willi. There was the Lucky Strike lanes on Main st next to Captiol theater; the Elks club has their own lanes; and I think the old Y had some lanes also. Last time I bowled duck pins was back in 1966 and now I am back in a duck pin league. It is great fun and I think more challenging then 10 pin bowling.

AS a kid I set pins at the old Lucky Strike Bowling Alley. Wenever I set pins for Billy Evachowsky's team I would get hit in the head by a few pins whenever he bowled, he had the fastest ball I ever saw.

Ernie:

And Bill's brother "Jocko" was a pin boy too....he used to throw em down out back with "Nick the Stick".

I remember the LS Bowling ALley owner Frank Barber. He used to put the $$$ down at Narrgansett with some other Willi cronies.

Bill and Jocko were nice guys alright. Both are gone now.
